We understand this is a concerning time as the COVID-19 situation evolves. As we are working together as a nation to contain and prevent the spread of further infections to the community, we understand this has resulted in a profound impact on our sector.
The health and safety of our clients, visitors, and community is a top priority with growing concerns over the novel coronavirus, Dance Umbrella of Ontario (DUO)’s physical office space located in downtown Toronto (Jarvis and Carlton). Our team is continuing to work from home due to the rising cases of COVID-19
DUO staff business hours will remain the same from Monday to Friday (9:30am to 5:00pm). Please contact duo@danceumbrella.net if you have any questions.
As a dance service organization, we recognize the challenges artists and the sector at large face and DUO would like to reassure you, that we are here to support your endeavours and individual goals and projects. For all DUO clients, please remain in direct contact with staff to ensure we are supporting your efforts. If you need to meet with DUO staff in the coming two weeks please contact us by email and we will set up a time for a phone or SKYPE meeting. If you would like support regarding your grant(s), marketing, and/or finances, please contact our staff. If you are not a client and are seeking support, consultation or information please contact our staff.
Despite the growing uncertainties, please consider creative ways to support your local arts organizations during this difficult time. Whether that is attending virtual events or donating to their organizations, every positive change will make a difference.
DUO is monitoring information from government funders and will share any new policies they may roll out to support artists who are affected. We will provide timely updates and resources through our newsletter, blog, social media and a new page on our website.
We will share any new information from local public health officials, governments, and funders with the sector through various channels.
Please make sure to wash your hands thoroughly (20 seconds), avoid touching your eyes, ears, mouth and nose, if you are coming home from abroad, please self-quarantine for at least 14-days, cover your mouth with your sleeve if you are going to cough or sneeze, and seek medical help if you require assistance. See below for resources provided by our community to assist you during this time.
If you need any support or information during this time regarding your projects and plans please be in contact with us.
Sincerely,
Robert Sauvey,
Executive Director
