The Canadian Dance Assembly <http://www.cda-acd.ca/en> is seeking a small organization or individual to share a part of a large and open loft style office in Toronto’s historic and picturesque distillery district. The Artscape building houses artists of various disciplines, and we share our floor with several visual artists and dance oriented organizations. CDA also shares our sunny and charming office space with the Dance Current Magazine, and as we are moving to a larger space on the same floor we are hoping another dance or performing arts oriented organization would be interested in joining us in making the new space their home.

Size: 1151 sqft.total (Tenant would have 20% of this total, 225 sq ft. )
Move in date: November 1st or December 1st.
Cost: 395$ a month + internet, phone connections, and minimum cleaning fees.

Call for Proposals for Performance/Programming Space in the Heart of the Entertainment District

Artscape is currently accepting applications from non-profit or charitable arts and cultural organizations interested in leasing ground floor public access space for performance and/or public programming activities at the Adelaide/Widmer Arts Space (working title), Artscape’s latest development in the Entertainment District. The space is approximately 6,250 square feet, including a mezzanine level that offers space for technical, storage or administrative uses. The application submission deadline is May 15, 2012.

This new performance/programming space represents a unique opportunity for an organization or group of organizations to be part of the lively Entertainment District and John Street Cultural Corridor, one of Toronto’s most popular arts and cultural destinations. The neighbourhood is home to established cultural institutions like TIFF Bell Lightbox, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, OCAD University, Roy Thomson Hall, the National Film Board of Canada, Canadian Broadcast Centre and the Princess of Wales Theatre. In addition to these attractions, the Entertainment District is home to many cultural and creative sector workplaces and a growing residential community.

In 2011, Artscape partnered with The Daniels Corporation and the City of Toronto on a new ground floor performance space at the base of Cinema Tower, along the John Street Cultural Corridor. The space will be owned and managed by Artscape and designed by Kirkor Architects. Cinema Tower is a 43-storey condominium development located on the southeast corner of Adelaide and Widmer Streets, just north of the TIFF Bell Lightbox. Currently under construction, the space is expected to be complete in late 2013.
